Private Party Policy

Thank you for considering basi italia for your private event! Your special event deserves a charming venue, exceptional food, and our professional attention. Whether you’re planning a rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, corporate meeting, birthday or anniversary party, trust us to help you plan and execute a truly special occasion from beginning to end.

We are located at 811 Highland St. on a charming brick alley in the heart of Columbus’s historic Victorian Village, a short walk from the bustling shopping and nightlife of downtown and the relaxing, lush parks of the neighborhood. Basi’s cozily designed core dining room seats up to 40 guests. Our charming garden patio is available for private events, but due to inclement weather, the number in your party must not exceed the limitations of the inside dining room.

Our Italian and Mediterranean inspired fine-casual cuisine has been praised both locally and nationally, consistently being lauded as some of the finest in Columbus and in the state. Emphasis is placed on simple, fresh, honest cooking with exciting local ingredients and artisan meats and seafood.

For private events, basi italia offers a family-style dining option as well as an individually-plated option to best suit your guests’ needs and desires.

To help make your private event truly special and appropriate to the occasion, we are able to assist in any ordering and placement of floral arrangements, decorations, small gifts, etc., as negotiated in advance for a nominal fee.

Family-Style Dining

  • Lunch: $20-$30/person – Choice of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 1 dessert
  • Dinner: $30-$45/person – Choice of 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, 2 desserts

Individually-Plated Dining

  • Lunch: $30-$40/person – Individual choice from 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 1 dessert
  • Dinner: $40-$55/person – Individual choice from 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, 2 desserts

*Prices listed do not include displacement fee, alcohol, tax, and automatic 20% gratuity

Private parties may only be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
(If only interested in hosting your event during regular business hours, a separate upfront, nonrefundable displacement fee will be necessary to account for loss of sales to the restaurant.)

Availability is as follows:

  • Lunch: Sunday through Thursday between Memorial and Labor Day; all days during the remainder of calendar year, excepting holidays. *All Lunch parties will be charged an upfront, nonrefundable fee of $250.00
  • Dinner: Sunday and Monday, excepting holidays, *All Dinner parties will be charged an upfront, nonrefundable fee of $500.00

We understand that situations can unexpectedly arise that may necessitate the cancellation of your event. However, regardless of notice, all cancellations will forfeit the upfront displacement fee.
